Horseshoe Bay II
Perched above the Hill Country landscape, this residence is composed of crisp stucco and stone volumes that shift and cantilever against the sky, unified by deep, dark-edged roof planes that hover overhead. Soaring two-story walls of black-framed glass flank the entry sequence, anchored by a chimneyed stone tower. Textured stone, smooth white plaster, and warm oak soffits play off one another throughout the home, lending the architecture a refined, tactile richness.
To the rear, the home opens fully toward the view: a long run of glass and steel columns dissolves the wall between the great room and covered terrace, where a step down from the pool and spa leads to the sloped lawn beyond. Planters filled with native grasses and wildflowers soften the stone retaining walls, and warm interior lighting that spills across the terrace at dusk creates an atmosphere that is at once sculptural, serene, and deeply rooted in the Texas landscape.
