Horseshoe Bay III
This single-story residence showcases an asymmetrical butterfly roofline, each plane sloping in opposing directions to create a dynamic silhouette. Native limestone and rich wood siding wrap the volumes below, while a soaring two-story glass entry, anchored by monumental stone columns, draws the eye upward and floods the foyer with natural light. Wide banks of black-framed windows dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, blurring the division between the indoors and the shaded oak canopy above. A stepping-stone path winds through plantings of agave, lavender, and native grasses, anchored by boulders that echo the stone facade.
Toward the rear, the composition relaxes into a low, gliding roofline that shelters the covered outdoor spaces which include outdoor living, kitchen, and dining spaces, before the plan opens back out toward the pool terrace beyond. The same tactile landscaping palette carries through to the rear terrace, where drifts of salvia and ornamental grasses soften the residence’s clean geometry. The result is a home that feels both modern and rooted within the rolling terrain it inhabits.
